Description

Sharjah International Airport is the third largest Middle East commercial airfreight hub in cargo tonnage with a continually and steadily growing annual passenger traffic. The runways are used for commercial, passenger and military purposes. Due to projected growth, plans were made to launch a new Runway and Control Tower project by 2015.

Brief Scope and Execution of works

Alpha Island Tech was subcontracted to execute 11kV and LV electrical networking for the new control tower, as well as building for the new runway. This was subject to strict regulations due to high standards of quality placed on the project. Specifications were carefully reviewed; relevant training was provided. The works and defect liability clauses were deemed as highly satisfactory by all parties involved. A brief overview of our scope includes:

  • 11kV and LV networking: Supply & installation of 11kV Substations, LV Feeder Pillars, associated 11kV & LV cabling, with successful testing & commissioning

The project was a 12 month journey from 2014 to 2015 with full handover plan successfully accomplished.
